That’s right, you can’t impeach him. So many people for so long have tried to move him from his place of authority, which in my opinion was given to him by God! After a drawn out trial, they tried to find him guilty but they couldn’t find any evidence of wrongdoing. The news was broadcast all over: They are going to try to remove him from office! An office that was his to begin with because he was chosen.

Do you know what’s interesting? He’s been persecuted, continually mocked, and at certain times even misunderstood. But who can blame him? His agenda is offensive and his plans for reform are considered by many really radical! Why? because his plans are driven by a set of values that many are either uncomfortable with or believe can fundamentally change the course of people’s lives.

Back many years ago, some people would never think a guy like that could come to hold the highest office of the land. The people that governed before him thought they were going to claim victory. They had a plan, but it failed. They tried to make others believe their way is best, but certainly they were wrong. A message of hope, reform, and redemption is hard to beat! and not only that…when you have a messenger who is a master at proclaiming his message so convincingly as to change and alter the course of people’s lives like never before, the crowds and the masses follow!

It is heard and recorded that thousands of people attend his rallies. Why you may ask? Because of the joy, excitement, and fulfillment they find in being part of his movement. Kings, rulers, government officials, leaders, have all heard of him. It’s hard not to because of his fame. One final, thing…I believe that those who do not support him are absolutely missing out. Before you’re angry at him, consider his message. Before you judge him, give him a try. Before you form your opinion do some research on him and ask his supporters to explain to you why he is so amazing. Before you try to root for his impeachment, understand that he is secure in his office, that none can dethrone him, and no criticism, trial, or suffering will change his resolve. And before you finish reading this article let me explain to you who he is…JESUS!!

Jesus is the one I’m talking about. He is on his throne, he is sovereign, he is the best leader the world has ever seen, and he is ruler over all! He is in control of everything, he loves you, and has died for you so that you too can experience the abundant life he offers!

This week of Thanksgiving, let us remember that Jesus is reason enough for us to be thankful. Remember to thank him for your salvation if you’re a believer. Remember to thank him for the security he offers you as his child, that nothing will ever separate you from his love (Rom 8:31-39). Others may vote to impeach him from their lives, but we can rest assured and thank God that his work was finished on the cross.

This week reflect on these verses:

“For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God. He was put to death in the body but made alive in the Spirit.” 1 Peter 3:18

” … He forgave us all our sins, having canceled the charge of our legal indebtedness, which stood against us and condemned us; he has taken it away, nailing it to the cross.” Colossians 2:13b-14

And finally, remember he’s always ready to listen to you, no matter what circumstance you find yourself in:

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:6-7

Happy Thanksgiving!!
